UK, France, Germany and Italy Signal Readiness to Lift Iran Sanctions Following US-Iran Deal

The United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy have signaled their willingness to lift sanctions on Iran following the recently announced US-Iran peace framework, provided Tehran takes clear and verifiable steps regarding its nuclear programme.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the four European countries stressed that Iran must never acquire a nuclear weapon and said they are prepared to work closely with the United States, Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to ensure compliance with future nuclear commitments.

The announcement comes after the United States and Iran reached a framework agreement aimed at ending months of tensions and opening a path toward renewed diplomacy. European leaders described the development as an opportunity to pursue long-term regional stability and strengthen diplomatic engagement.

According to the statement, any sanctions relief would be conditional on Iran taking measurable and verified actions related to its nuclear activities. The countries did not announce an immediate lifting of sanctions, emphasizing instead that future relief would depend on Iran meeting agreed commitments under international monitoring.
If implemented, the move could mark one of the most significant changes in Europe’s approach toward Iran in recent years. Analysts say the prospect of sanctions relief could help improve economic ties and encourage further diplomatic cooperation, although several key details of the nuclear negotiations still need to be finalized.

The European powers reiterated that sanctions would only be eased after concrete progress is verified, underscoring that the process remains tied to international oversight and Iran’s adherence to future nuclear obligations.
The development is being viewed as a potentially important step toward reducing regional tensions, though officials have cautioned that further negotiations and verification measures will be required before any sanctions are formally lifted.
