Sindh Finalises Over Rs900 Billion Development Budget For FY2026-27

  • Sindh has prepared a development budget exceeding Rs900 billion for the next fiscal year.
  • Rs522 billion has been proposed for the Annual Development Programme (ADP).
  • Allocations for foreign-funded projects and federal PSDP schemes are expected to decline.

The Sindh government has finalized preparations for its development budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, proposing a total development outlay of more than Rs900 billion to support infrastructure, public services, and other priority sectors across the province.

According to official budget documents, the government has proposed allocating Rs522 billion under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the upcoming fiscal year. The proposed allocation is slightly higher than the Rs520 billion earmarked for the current fiscal year, reflecting the province’s continued focus on development spending.

The budget proposals also include Rs296 billion for foreign-funded development projects. This marks a reduction from the Rs367 billion allocated under the Foreign Project Assistance Programme during FY2025-26, indicating a lower projected reliance on externally financed development initiatives.

In addition, Sindh is expected to receive between Rs50 billion and Rs60 billion through the federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). The proposed allocation is lower than the Rs76 billion provided under the federal development programme during the current fiscal year.

The provincial government has also proposed allocating Rs50 billion for the District Annual Development Programme. This compares with Rs55 billion allocated for district-level development projects in the ongoing fiscal year.

Official documents show that Sindh’s overall development programme for FY2025-26 stood at approximately Rs1.018 trillion. However, development spending plans for FY2026-27 have been revised in line with sectoral priorities, project requirements, and the availability of financial resources.

The proposed development budget is expected to support ongoing and new projects across key sectors, with final allocations set to be presented as part of the provincial budget for the next fiscal year.
