Pakistan Announces 16-Member Squad for Blind T20 World Cup 2024

The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) has announced a 16-member squad for the Blind T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place in Pakistan from November 23 to December 3. The team will be captained by Nasir Ali, with Badar Munir taking on the role of vice-captain.

The squad selection, approved by PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah, was conducted by a committee comprising Masood Jan, Muhammad Jameel, and Tahir Mahmood Butt. This lineup, according to Shah, represents a balanced mix of seasoned players and emerging talent, who have showcased exceptional skills in recent domestic tournaments.

In addition to the main squad, three players—Muhammad Ayaz, Moeen Aslam, and Muhammad Rashid—have been named as reserves. The team’s official roster includes Jameel as head coach, Masood as assistant coach, Malik Abrar Hussain as team manager, Naveed Hussain Abbasi as assistant manager, and Tahir as the team’s trainer.

Pakistan will launch their World Cup campaign against South Africa in the opening match, and expectations are high. PBCC Chairman Shah expressed confidence in the squad’s potential, noting the players’ commitment and skill demonstrated in their recent performances. “The team reflects a blend of experience and youth,” Shah said, “and we are optimistic that they will uphold the nation’s hopes in the upcoming championship.”
