12th Edition of Pakistan Super League 2027

The 2027 edition of the Pakistan Super League will mark the 12th season of Pakistan’s premier T20 competition, building on the league’s expansion to eight teams introduced in the previous season. With Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Hyderabad Kingsmen, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators and Rawalpindiz expected to compete, PSL 2027 is set to continue the tournament’s expanded era. Matches are expected to be staged across multiple venues in Pakistan, with the final schedule and host cities to be confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

PSL 12 is also expected to continue with the player auction system introduced as part of the league’s major structural changes. The eight franchises will look to strengthen their squads with a combination of leading Pakistani cricketers and international players, setting up another competitive season with greater depth across the tournament.

PSL 2027 is tentatively expected to be played during the January-February window, with 44 matches anticipated across the league stage and playoffs, including the final. The tournament is expected to run for more than a month, although the exact dates, fixtures, venues and match timings will remain tentative until the PCB officially announces the complete HBL PSL 12 schedule.

The PCB has not yet announced the official 2027 PSL complete schedule. The dates, fixtures, match timings and venues for HBL PSL 12 will be officially confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board soon. Based on the expected tournament window, PSL 2027 is tentatively projected to take place during January and February 2027, with the final schedule subject to PCB confirmation.

A total of 44 T20 matches are expected to be played during the PSL 12 season, including the league-stage fixtures, Qualifier, two Eliminators and the final. The tournament is expected to feature matches at major cricket venues across Pakistan, while the venues for the playoffs and PSL 2027 final will be confirmed when the PCB releases the official schedule.

Eight teams are expected to compete in PSL 2027 following the league’s expansion from six to eight franchises. The tournament format and distribution of league-stage matches will be confirmed by the PCB with the official schedule. Teams will compete for places in the playoffs, with the top-performing sides progressing to the knockout stage and ultimately the PSL 12 final.

PSL 2027 Teams and Squads

The squad selection process for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League is expected to continue with the player auction system introduced ahead of PSL 2026. The date for the PSL 2027 player auction has not yet been announced and will be officially confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Details regarding player retentions, categories, overseas player registrations and squad-building rules for the eight participating franchises are also expected to be announced ahead of the auction.
