Information Minister blames PTI leadership for May 9 incidents

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has held the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership accountable for the events of May 9, accusing them of orchestrating violence and attempting to deflect attention from their actions.

Speaking in response to recent statements by PTI’s Barrister Gohar Ali, Tarar criticized the party for spreading what he termed as false narratives about gunfire during the unrest. He challenged PTI to provide evidence for their claims and questioned the party’s leadership for allegedly fleeing the scene during the incidents.

Tarar accused armed miscreants of attacking federal institutions on November 26 as well, resulting in the deaths and injuries of security personnel. He emphasized the need for accountability for the loss of life and dismissed PTI’s allegations of casualties during these events, urging the party to substantiate their claims with proof.

The minister condemned what he described as PTI’s “violent politics,” asserting that substantial evidence implicates the party’s leadership in the May 9 incidents. He called for justice and accountability for the attacks, reaffirming the government’s commitment to holding those responsible accountable.
