Google Unveils Gemini 3.5 Live Translate for Real-Time Conversations in Over 70 Languages

Google has introduced Gemini 3.5 Live Translate, a new artificial intelligence-powered translation tool designed to make communication across languages faster and more natural. The technology supports real-time translation in more than 70 languages, allowing users from different parts of the world to communicate without language barriers.
Unlike traditional translation systems that require speakers to pause before receiving a translated response, Gemini 3.5 Live Translate offers continuous translation. This enables conversations to flow naturally, with users able to speak and respond in real time without waiting for complete sentences to be translated.

One of the key features of the new system is its ability to preserve the original speaker’s tone, pace, and vocal expression. By maintaining these human elements, the translated speech sounds more natural and lifelike, reducing the robotic feel often associated with machine translation technologies.
Google says the AI tool is also designed to perform effectively in challenging environments, including noisy locations where background sounds can interfere with communication. This capability makes it suitable for a wide range of real-world situations, from business meetings and classrooms to travel and customer service interactions.
Industry experts believe the technology could have a significant impact on global communication by helping people collaborate more easily across linguistic and cultural boundaries. Sectors such as education, healthcare, customer support, and international business are expected to benefit from the tool’s advanced translation capabilities.
