Federal Budget 2026-27 To Be Presented On June 10, Says Tariq Fazal Chaudhry

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has announced that the federal government will present the Budget 2026-27 on June 10, outlining the country’s financial priorities and economic roadmap for the upcoming fiscal year.
Speaking during Samaa TV’s programme Nadeem Malik Live, the minister confirmed the date for the budget presentation and indicated that the government is currently focused on finalising financial planning and budget-related matters.

According to Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, no major legislation is expected to be introduced before the budget session, as the government’s immediate attention remains on economic management, revenue targets and development priorities for the next fiscal year.
The upcoming budget is expected to be closely watched by businesses, investors and the general public, particularly amid ongoing discussions on economic reforms, inflation management, taxation measures and development spending.
During the interview, the minister also commented on the country’s political situation. He referred to emerging tensions among political groups and claimed that interference in political affairs could destabilise certain provincial political arrangements. He specifically mentioned growing differences between the Ali Amin and Sohail Afridi factions.
Beyond domestic politics, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic role in recent regional developments, particularly regarding tensions between the United States and Iran.
He said Pakistan’s efforts during the diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Washington received international recognition. According to the minister, Pakistan played a constructive role in encouraging dialogue and reducing tensions between the two countries.
The minister further claimed that former US President Donald Trump had acknowledged Pakistan’s role in facilitating a ceasefire extension through the efforts of the country’s leadership, including the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal.
Expressing optimism about the future of US-Iran relations, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said there is hope that both sides could eventually reach a comprehensive agreement through ongoing negotiations.
He suggested that a final round of discussions could potentially take place in Islamabad, reflecting Pakistan’s growing diplomatic relevance in regional affairs.
The minister stated that improved relations between Iran and the United States would be beneficial for Pakistan, particularly in terms of regional stability, trade opportunities and economic cooperation.
He added that Pakistan’s leadership remains committed to supporting diplomatic progress while focusing on national stability, economic growth and development objectives.
