  • SBP declares July 1 a nationwide bank holiday.
  • Public banking transactions and customer services to remain suspended.
  • Bank staff will attend offices for internal operations as usual.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that July 1 will be observed as a bank holiday across the country, with all banks and financial institutions remaining closed for public dealings.

The central bank said the holiday will also be observed by development finance institutions (DFIs) and microfinance banks. As a result, over-the-counter banking services and customer transactions will remain unavailable throughout the day.

However, employees of banks and financial institutions will attend their offices as usual to perform internal and administrative duties, while public-facing banking operations will remain suspended.
