In a significant recognition of her contributions to sports, former Indian tennis star Sania Mirza has been appointed as the sports ambassador for Dubai by the Dubai Sports Council. The Dubai Sports Council, established in 2005, oversees the sports sector in Dubai, aiming to foster physical activity within society, with a special focus on promoting sports among women and children.
