Rizwan, Babar Climb In Latest ICC Test Rankings

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and former captain Babar Azam have both improved their positions in the latest ICC Test batting rankings following the annual update released by the International Cricket Council.
Rizwan and Babar each moved up one spot in the batting standings, rising to 20th and 21st place respectively. Among other Pakistani batters, Saud Shakeel and Salman Ali Agha retained their positions and remain ranked 25th and 27th.

Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood slipped one place to 44th with 558 rating points, while opener Imam-ul-Haq held on to 52nd position with 522 points.
Abdullah Shafique, who last played a Test match against South Africa in 2025, gained one place to move up to 54th with 517 rating points. Young batter Abdullah Fazal, meanwhile, dropped one position and is now ranked 97th.
At the top of the Test batting rankings, England’s Joe Root continues to occupy the number one position, followed by compatriot Harry Brook in second place. Australia’s Travis Head remains third.
In the bowling rankings, Pakistan spinner Noman Ali maintained his place among the world’s leading Test bowlers, staying seventh with 817 rating points.
Fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Abbas both registered gains, moving up one place each to 25th and 27th respectively. Spinner Sajid Khan retained his 31st position, while Hasan Ali and Khurram Shahzad are ranked 38th and 46th.
Pakistan spinner Asif Afridi and all-rounder Salman Ali Agha slipped down the rankings, dropping to 83rd and 90th respectively.
India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the ICC Test bowling rankings. Australia’s Mitchell Starc remains in second place, while Australian captain Pat Cummins has climbed to third, overtaking New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry.
