Punjab Announces New Timings For Markets, Shopping Malls And Marriage Halls

The Punjab government has introduced new operating hours for markets, shopping malls, marriage halls and other commercial establishments across the province through an official notification.

According to the notification, shops, markets and shopping malls will now be allowed to remain open until 9pm. The revised schedule is part of the government’s efforts to regulate commercial activities and energy consumption.

Marriage halls and marquees will be permitted to operate until 10pm, while restaurants, cafes and cinemas can continue their operations until 11pm.

The notification also clarifies that there will be no restrictions on takeaway services. Restaurants will be allowed to provide takeaway facilities beyond the prescribed operating hours.

Certain essential services have been exempted from the new restrictions. Medical stores and petrol pumps will be allowed to operate without being affected by the revised timings.
