Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the party’s successful candidates after PML-N secured a decisive lead in the second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif said the party’s impressive performance was the result of the dedicated efforts of Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N leadership and workers. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to all victorious candidates and appreciated their hard work throughout the election campaign.

The prime minister said the election outcome reflected the confidence of the people of Azad Kashmir in PML-N’s vision and policies. He added that the party had conducted a well-organised and effective campaign under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, which earned widespread public support.

Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that the development, prosperity and welfare of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir would remain among the federal government’s top priorities. He said every possible effort would be made to fulfil the expectations of the people and accelerate progress across the region.

The prime minister also welcomed the active participation of different political parties in the electoral process, describing it as a positive development for democracy. He said such participation would further strengthen democratic traditions and institutions in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
