Kinza Hashmi Says She No Longer Wants To Be Part Of The Showbiz ‘Race’

Pakistani actress Kinza Hashmi has shared her thoughts on how her approach to choosing projects has changed over the years, saying that she now prioritizes meaningful work over following industry trends.
Speaking in a recent interview with Something Haute, Kinza said she no longer selects dramas based on public expectations or what is considered commercially popular. Instead, she chooses projects that feel right to her as an artist.

The actress explained that she does not want to be involved in the constant “race” of the entertainment industry. She revealed that when she decided to take on the drama Shirin Farhad, she was advised by the channel to choose a more mainstream project. However, Kinza stood by her decision because she wanted to explore a different style of storytelling, even if it appealed to a smaller audience.
Kinza also spoke about her preference for privacy and her discomfort with excessive publicity. She admitted that interviews and social media activity can sometimes make her anxious, as she prefers to stay away from unnecessary attention and controversy. According to her, the respect earned through quality work is more important than constant public visibility.
Reflecting on her career, Kinza noted that she has already experienced significant commercial success through popular dramas such as Ishq Tamasha, Ruposh, and Dil Awaiz. She said she now feels ready to focus on more creative and meaningful roles that offer artistic satisfaction.
