Gold Price in Pakistan Plunge by Rs, 5,500 per Tola Amid Global Market Decline
Gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a significant decline on Thursday, with a drop of Rs5,500 per tola, settling at Rs266,400, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). This decrease follows a similar trend in the international market, where the price of gold fell by $55 per ounce, bringing it down to $2,552 with a $20 premium.
In addition to the tola rate, the price for 10 grams of gold also fell, decreasing by Rs4,716 to reach Rs228,395. This recent drop comes after a minor surge on Wednesday when local gold prices rose by Rs1,400 per tola, hitting Rs271,900, while 10 grams increased by Rs1,200 to Rs233,111.

Despite the sharp drop in gold, silver prices in Pakistan remained stable at Rs3,250 per tola. Gold has been fluctuating in recent months, reaching a record high of Rs287,900 per tola in Pakistan last month due to market volatility.
