Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that 20,000 green tractors will be distributed among farmers during the next fiscal year as part of the provincial government’s efforts to modernize agriculture and support the farming community.

In a statement, the chief minister said that modern agricultural machinery has become essential for improving productivity and efficiency in the agriculture sector. She reiterated her government’s commitment to helping farmers adopt modern farming practices and technologies.
Maryam Nawaz said the Punjab government is also facilitating small-scale farmers by providing access to advanced agricultural machinery on a rental basis, enabling them to benefit from modern equipment without bearing the full cost of ownership.
Highlighting the progress of the Chief Minister’s Green Tractor Scheme, she said a subsidy of Rs1 million has been provided on 9,500 high-power tractors to support farmers across the province.
She further stated that the government is supplying 10,000 tractors with engine capacities ranging from 50 to 65 horsepower, with each tractor carrying a subsidy of Rs500,000 for eligible farmers.
The chief minister said the agriculture sector remains a key priority for the provincial government, adding that initiatives such as subsidised tractors and access to modern machinery are aimed at increasing crop yields, reducing production costs and strengthening rural economies.
