Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) police, along with the district administration, have sealed the central office of the proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) as part of an ongoing crackdown against the organisation.
According to officials, the operation was conducted under the direction of the AJK government, which has been taking action against what it describes as a disruptive group operating under the banner of the Action Committee.

Authorities said the district administration and police jointly carried out the raid and sealed the organisation’s central office on allegations of involvement in anti-state activities.
During a search of the premises, police claimed to have recovered a submachine gun, a 12-bore rifle and a pistol. Officials said the recovered weapons have been taken into custody as part of the investigation.
A large number of people were present outside the office when the operation was underway. However, authorities said the situation remained peaceful and no protest, resistance or slogan-chanting was reported during the raid.
