PM Shahbaz to lead high-level meeting on India’s refusal to attend Champions Trophy 2025
The Pakistani government has announced plans for a high-level consultation following India’s decision not to send its cricket team to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The meeting, set to be chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who serves as the patron-in-chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), aims to address growing concerns from government officials and various sectors of society regarding the impact of India’s refusal.
Upon the Prime Minister’s return, the meeting will include representatives from the PCB, the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, and other key stakeholders, marking a collaborative approach to addressing the issue. The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior, along with security agency heads, will also participate, offering insights on diplomatic and security aspects that could shape Pakistan’s stance.
