Mohammad Amir, Saim Ayub Set to Shine in Inaugural Lanka T10 Super League
The highly anticipated Lanka T10 Super League is set to make its debut this December in Kandy, bringing a fast-paced and electrifying new format to cricket fans. Six franchises — Colombo Jaguars, Galle Marvels, Hambantota Bangla Tigers, Jaffna Titans, Kandy Bolts, and Nuwara Eliya Kings — will compete for the title in this first edition of the league, which promises action-packed cricket and star-studded rosters from around the world.
The league’s player draft, held on November 10 in Colombo, saw top players from across the globe signed by each franchise. Pakistani stars are among the notable international players, with Mohammad Amir and Saim Ayub set to showcase their skills in the T10 format.

The Jaffna Titans, aiming for a strong start, have secured Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir and versatile all-rounder David Wiese. Known for his devastating left-arm pace, Amir is expected to be a key weapon for the Titans. Wiese, meanwhile, brings his experience as an all-rounder, contributing both with the bat and ball.
Colombo Jaguars, with former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews as their icon player, have strengthened their lineup with England’s Tymal Mills and Pakistan’s Aamer Jamal. Mills’ left-arm pace adds depth to their bowling, while Jamal brings promise as a young, skilled all-rounder.
The Galle Marvels, led by their icon player Maheesh Theekshana, have a mix of experience and youthful energy. With Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and Jeffrey Vandersay in their lineup, the Marvels have assembled a potent bowling attack.
The Hambantota Bangla Tigers boast some prominent names, including Sri Lanka’s Dushmantha Chameera, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Shahzad, and Bangladeshi all-rounder Soumya Sarkar. With Dasun Shanaka and Hazratullah Zazai joining, the Tigers bring a wealth of experience to the tournament.
Kandy Bolts have signed two promising openers, Pathum Nissanka and Pakistan’s Saim Ayub, both of whom are known for their ability to provide explosive starts. The Bolts also add Pakistan’s Shahnawaz Dahani to their bowling lineup, known for his express pace and wicket-taking ability.
Finally, the Nuwara Eliya Kings have assembled a steady squad featuring Sri Lankan talents Lahiru Madushanka, Kasun Rajitha, Avishka Fernando, and India’s Saurabh Tiwary, aiming for a balanced approach in the tournament.
