The military said the slain militants had been actively involved in numerous terrorist and sabotage activities across the region. During the operations, security forces also recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives and ready-made improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which authorities said were intended for use in future attacks.
The statement added that clearance and sanitisation operations remain underway in the affected areas to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining terrorist elements. The military reiterated that counter-terrorism operations will continue under the National Action Plan and the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy approved by the Federal Apex Committee, with the objective of eradicating terrorism and dismantling militant networks operating within the country.
Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies reaffirmed their commitment to continuing intelligence-based operations and maintaining pressure on terrorist groups in order to safeguard national security and stability. Authorities said the campaign against terrorism would continue at full pace until the threat is fully neutralized.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif separately commended the security forces for the successful operations and praised their professionalism, courage and dedication in carrying out the missions. Both leaders described the operation as an important achievement in Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism and reiterated their support for the armed forces and law enforcement agencies.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the elimination of the 17 terrorists reflected the collective resolve of the nation against terrorism. He noted that the services and sacrifices of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies are highly valued by the nation and stressed that operations against terrorist groups would continue until terrorism is completely eradicated from Pakistan.
