Punjab Allows Schools To Hold Summer Camps During Vacations
- Government and private schools across Punjab have been permitted to organize summer camps during summer vacations.

The Punjab Education Department has granted permission to all government and private schools across the province to conduct summer camps during the ongoing summer vacation period.
According to an official notification, schools may organize summer camp activities from Monday to Thursday between 7am and 10am. Friday will remain a holiday during the summer camp schedule.

Education authorities clarified that participation in the summer camps will be entirely voluntary and students will not be required to attend. The department has directed schools to ensure that no pressure is placed on students or parents regarding participation.
The notification also states that students attending the camps will not be required to wear school uniforms, allowing them to participate in a more comfortable environment during the hot weather.
The summer camps are expected to provide students with opportunities for academic support, revision sessions, skill development activities and co-curricular learning during the vacation period while minimizing exposure to extreme daytime temperatures.
To ensure student safety and well-being, the Punjab Education Department has issued strict instructions regarding health and safety arrangements at school premises.
Schools have been directed to ensure the availability of cold drinking water, properly functioning fans and essential first-aid equipment throughout the duration of the camps. Authorities emphasized that adequate measures must be taken to protect students from heat-related illnesses during the summer season.
The department warned that strict action will be taken against institutions that fail to comply with the prescribed safety requirements and operational guidelines.
Punjab has been experiencing high temperatures in recent weeks, prompting authorities to adopt precautionary measures aimed at protecting students while allowing limited educational and extracurricular activities to continue during the vacation period.
Officials said the summer camps are intended to provide a flexible learning opportunity for interested students while maintaining strict adherence to health and safety standards across all participating schools.
