Pakistan has once again emerged as the world’s leading recipient of Erasmus Mundus scholarships, securing the highest number of awards among 135 participating countries and maintaining its top position for the fifth consecutive year.
According to the official Erasmus Mundus scholarship results for 2026, a total of 98 Pakistani students were selected for the prestigious programme, making Pakistan the largest contributor of successful candidates worldwide.

The achievement places Pakistan ahead of several major countries. Bangladesh secured second place with 80 scholarship recipients, followed by India with 75, the United States with 68 and Italy with 67 successful candidates.
The Erasmus Mundus programme, funded by the European Union under Erasmus+, is regarded as one of the world’s most competitive international scholarship schemes. It provides fully funded opportunities for outstanding students to pursue master’s degree programmes jointly offered by leading universities across Europe and other partner countries.
