Shaheen Afridi likely to receive PCB NOC for Lanka Premier League

Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi is likely to receive a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to participate in the 2026 Lanka Premier League (LPL).
Sources said on Sunday that the left-arm pacer has signed a contract with an LPL franchise and has formally applied to the PCB for permission to play. The board is expected to grant the NOC in the coming days.

The 2026 Lanka Premier League will begin on July 17 and continue until August 8, marking the return of Sri Lanka’s premier T20 tournament.
The opening match will see defending champions Jaffna take on runners-up Galle at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in a repeat of the 2024 final. The day-night fixture is scheduled to start at 7:30pm local time and will be followed by the tournament’s official opening ceremony.
According to the confirmed schedule, matches will be played across four major venues before the knockout stage and final return to Colombo.
