Zartaj Gul Criticizes Punjab Government as Smog Crisis Worsens
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zartaj Gul voiced strong criticism of the Punjab government on Wednesday, condemning its response to the severe smog blanketing the province.
Gul expressed disappointment over Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s reported departure from the country amid the environmental crisis, accusing her of neglecting the health risks faced by residents.

“The TikToker chief minister has left the country amid this toxic smog,” Gul remarked, highlighting the respiratory difficulties and health issues citizens are enduring due to the pollution. “The entire province is engulfed in smog with almost zero visibility,” she added.
While drawing attention to the government’s handling of the crisis, Gul was observed without a face mask, in apparent violation of standard smog safety guidelines.
The worsening smog levels have raised public health concerns across Punjab, with many citizens calling for stricter pollution controls and more effective government action to address the environmental hazards.
