Wasim Badami says US-Iran agreement brings relief to a world fearing wider conflict

Pakistani television host and journalist Wasim Badami, in a video message from Bürgenstock, Switzerland, said the peace agreement between the United States and Iran had brought a sense of relief to a world that was increasingly concerned about the possibility of a wider conflict.
Speaking from the Swiss resort town located around two hours from Zurich, Badami described the day as one filled with major developments, differing reports and intense diplomatic activity, but said it had ultimately ended with positive news for the global community.

Expressing happiness over the outcome, Badami said fears of another war had eased and that people around the world could now breathe a sigh of relief.
According to Badami, the agreement was signed by the United States and Iran, while Pakistan served as the official mediator in the process. He said Pakistan was the only country, apart from the two signatories, to have formally signed the agreement, highlighting what he described as Islamabad’s central role in both the peace document and the wider diplomatic efforts.
Badami said initial plans included a formal signing ceremony attended by senior representatives of the United States, Iran and Pakistan. However, he explained that the agreement was later finalised through electronic signatures due to various reasons.
He added that the signing by the US president, the Iranian president and Pakistan’s prime minister was also witnessed physically, while discussions continued on whether a formal ceremony featuring handshakes and photographs would still take place.
According to Badami, once the signing process had been completed, any additional ceremony became largely symbolic.
Reporting from Bürgenstock, he said the agreement had now come into effect and implementation had already begun.
Addressing his followers in Pakistan, Badami said he was pleased to share what he described as a historic and encouraging development. He expressed hope that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts would contribute to lasting peace and stability, not only in the region but across the world.
