Sindh Announces Public Holiday on August 26 for Eid Milad-un-Nabi

The Sindh government has announced a public holiday across the province on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ.

According to an official notification issued by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, all government offices across the province will remain closed on August 26 in connection with the observance of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH.

The holiday will also apply to autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils operating under the administrative control of the Sindh government.

However, departments and institutions responsible for providing essential services will remain exempt from the holiday and will continue their operations as required.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ is observed on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, with religious gatherings, processions and other events traditionally organised to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
