According to Pakistan’s Hajj Policy 2025, the Hajj quota is equally divided, with 50% allocated to government schemes and 50% to private arrangements. The policy also stipulates that children under 12 years of age are ineligible to perform Hajj this year. Furthermore, in the event of a pilgrim’s death, the family will receive Rs2 million in compensation, with additional provisions for compensating injured pilgrims.

The 2025 policy introduces a new installment-based payment system to make Hajj more accessible, with priority given to first-time pilgrims. Pilgrims with severe or contagious health conditions will not be eligible to participate this year. Chaudhry Salik, announcing the policy, emphasized that every effort will be made to fully utilize the Hajj quota, with any unused slots from the sponsored scheme reallocated to general pilgrims. A special quota of 5,000 has been reserved for overseas Pakistanis.

The cost for Hajj 2025 is set between Rs1.075 million and Rs1.175 million. Pilgrims who are owed Rs100,000 from previous payments will receive their refunds soon. The payment plan allows pilgrims to pay in three installments: an initial Rs200,000 with the application, Rs400,000 post-lottery, and the remaining balance before departure.

2025 Hajj Policy Announced

The Pakistan Hajj Policy 2025, announced by the Ministry of Religious Affairs earlier, outlines a comprehensive plan for the upcoming pilgrimage, allocating a total of 179,210 spots divided equally between government and private schemes.

This year, the policy introduces new facilities and measures, including installment-based payment options, priority for first-time applicants, and a special allocation for overseas Pakistanis. Health and safety protocols restrict children under 12 from participating, while compensation provisions for pilgrims have been enhanced, offering Rs2 million for accidental death and Rs1 million for severe injuries.

Digital support and dedicated administrators (Nazim) will assist pilgrims, and a “Road to Makkah” facility will expedite immigration at key airports, ensuring a smoother experience for Pakistani pilgrims.
