NHA increases M-2 Motorway toll by 7% for next year

ISLAMABAD – The National Highway Authority (NHA) has increased toll charges on the M-2 Motorway by seven per cent under its annual revision of motorway tariffs, with the new rates now in effect for the upcoming year.

Under the revised toll schedule, motorists travelling on the Lahore-Islamabad M-2 Motorway will now pay higher charges across all major vehicle categories. According to the updated tariff, the toll for cars has been fixed at Rs1,430, while vans will now be charged Rs2,390. The toll for coaster vehicles has been increased to Rs3,350.
The revised rates also apply to heavy transport vehicles. Buses will now pay Rs4,770 per trip, while the toll for large trailers has been set at Rs6,210. Agricultural machinery operators using the motorway will be required to pay Rs7,980 under the new schedule.
The updated toll structure has already been implemented and will remain in force throughout the next year. The increase is part of the NHA’s routine annual review of motorway toll charges.
The revised tariff also affects the average per-kilometre travel cost for motorway users. Under the new rates, car owners will pay approximately Rs3.98 per kilometre, while vans will be charged around Rs6.68 per kilometre for travel on the M-2 Motorway.
The latest increase is expected to affect thousands of private motorists, commercial transporters and logistics operators who regularly use the country’s busiest motorway corridor between Lahore and Islamabad.
