ECP sets December 17 hearing in contempt case against Imran Khan

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has scheduled a hearing on December 17 in a contempt case against former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Imran Khan. Notices and a cause list have been issued to proceed with the case, according to sources.
This development follows a directive issued on November 21, when the ECP instructed Khan to ensure his attendance at the next hearing. The case dates back to August 2022, when the ECP served contempt notices to Imran Khan and former PTI leaders Fawad Chaudhry and Asad Umar.
