Balochistan Unveils Rs1.089 Trillion Budget with Major Spending on Health and Education

The Balochistan government on Wednesday presented a Rs1.089 trillion budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, placing strong emphasis on improving healthcare, education and agricultural development across the province.

Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, while presenting the budget in the provincial assembly, said the government had successfully utilised 115 percent of its development funds during the outgoing fiscal year, highlighting progress in the implementation of development projects.

Under the proposed budget, Rs96 billion has been allocated for the health sector, while an additional Rs90 billion has been set aside for non-development health expenditures to support the delivery of medical services.

Education remains a key priority, with Rs127 billion proposed for the sector to enhance educational facilities and improve learning opportunities throughout the province. The government has also earmarked Rs31 billion for higher and technical education to strengthen skills training and professional development programs.

The agriculture sector is expected to receive Rs23.6 billion under the new budget, reflecting efforts to support farmers and increase agricultural productivity.

For law and order, the government has proposed Rs243 million in development funding and Rs1.2 billion in non-development expenditures to strengthen security-related initiatives.

The budget will now be discussed by members of the provincial assembly before being considered for final approval.
