Saudi Arabia Arrests Over 14,300 People for Residency, Labour and Border Violations

Saudi authorities have arrested more than 14,300 people for violations of residency, labour and border security regulations during a series of joint enforcement operations conducted across the Kingdom.
According to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior, the nationwide field campaigns were carried out between August 13 and August 19, 2026, targeting individuals found violating the country’s residency, employment and border security laws.

Official figures showed that 6,900 of those detained were accused of violating residency regulations, while 3,982 were arrested over border security violations. Another 3,378 people were detained for breaches of labour laws.
The Interior Ministry also reported that 1,524 individuals were apprehended while allegedly attempting to enter Saudi Arabia illegally.
The latest figures come as Saudi authorities continue nationwide inspections and enforcement campaigns aimed at ensuring compliance with the Kingdom’s residency, labour and border security regulations.
