A major water supply project worth Rs14.2 billion has been approved for Karachi to improve water availability in DHA and surrounding areas, offering relief to thousands of residents facing water shortages.
According to reports, the project will provide an additional 10 million gallons per day (MGD) of water to DHA and nearby localities, helping address the city’s growing demand for water.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said the project was approved with the support of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari.
He said work on the project would begin soon to strengthen Karachi’s water supply system and improve access to clean water for residents.
Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig also confirmed that approval has been granted for the release of Rs14.2 billion required for the project and expressed hope that implementation would begin without delay.
