QAU award degrees to 3,188 graduates during 2024 convocation

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad marked a significant milestone by awarding degrees to 3,188 graduates during its 2024 convocation held at the Pakistan-China Friendship Center on Thursday. The event celebrated the achievements of 1,246 Bachelor’s, 1,734 MPhil, and 208 PhD graduates.
Federal Minister for Education and QAU Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, served as the chief guest. In his address, he extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates, their families, and teachers. Acknowledging the medal recipients, he remarked on their accomplishments as a source of national pride. Dr. Siddiqui stressed the critical role of education in achieving holistic freedom and assured ongoing governmental support for higher education and research development at QAU.

Vice-Chancellor of QAU, Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, also addressed the gathering, sharing the university’s remarkable accomplishments. He highlighted QAU’s top rankings: first in Pakistan, 84th in Asia, 9th in South Asia, and 315th globally.
Dr. Akhtar outlined the university’s vision for the future, focusing on elevating education standards, prioritizing practical research, and attracting international students. He further emphasized efforts to align the curriculum with industry and service sector trends, ensuring the institution’s relevance in a competitive global environment.
The convocation was attended by a large number of faculty members, graduates, and their families, creating a joyous atmosphere to honor the graduates’ hard work and the institution’s ongoing success.
