PSX falls below 170,000 as selling pressure continues

  • KSE-100 Index slips below the 170,000-point mark.
  • Market loses more than 1,800 points in early trading.
  • Decline follows Thursday’s sharp 2,690-point drop.
  • Continued selling reflects bearish investor sentiment.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) extended its losing streak on Friday as heavy selling pushed the benchmark KSE-100 Index below the key 170,000-point level during early trading.

At the start of the fifth and final trading session of the week, the market opened in negative territory, with the KSE-100 Index dropping by more than 1,800 points to 169,885.

The latest decline comes a day after the stock market suffered significant losses. On Thursday, the benchmark index fell by 2,690 points to close at 171,739, reflecting continued bearish sentiment among investors.

Market analysts attributed the ongoing decline to sustained selling pressure, with investors remaining cautious amid prevailing market uncertainty.

The PSX has witnessed increased volatility in recent sessions as traders continue to closely monitor economic developments and investor confidence.
