Pakistan on Monday strongly condemned the recent remarks made by the Indian Defence Minister regarding the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, calling them highly provocative, irresponsible, and a threat to regional peace and stability.
In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said the comments misrepresent the internationally recognised status of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, which remains on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council. He added that such statements reflect India’s deliberate approach of escalating tensions and undermining regional and international security.

The Foreign Office further stated that the remarks appear to be an attempt to shift global attention away from India’s continued occupation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), its alleged involvement in sponsoring terrorism across the region, and its internal challenges.
Andrabi said that despite India’s aggressive rhetoric, it should not misjudge the unwavering determination of the Government and people of Pakistan to defend the country’s sovereignty. He pointed to the resolve demonstrated by the Pakistani nation and its armed forces during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos last year as evidence of Pakistan’s preparedness against any form of aggression.
Reiterating Pakistan’s long-standing position on Kashmir, the Foreign Office urged the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take serious notice of India’s continued conduct and hold it accountable for failing to implement the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, which guarantee the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
