New simplified electricity bill format introduced across Pakistan
The Power Division has launched a redesigned electricity bill format across the country to make billing information easier to understand and improve transparency for consumers.
Issued by power distribution companies (DISCOs) on the directives of the Ministry of Energy, the new format aims to simplify bill details and enhance the overall user experience for consumers in all categories.

According to the Power Division, the revised design prominently displays key information, including the total payable amount, due date, electricity consumption and payment details, allowing consumers to review their billing status at a glance.
The previous bill format had become difficult for many consumers to understand due to its complex layout, excessive information and technical terminology. Authorities said the redesign was carried out after receiving feedback and complaints from consumers, along with suggestions from various stakeholders.
The updated bills also feature a QR code that enables consumers to instantly access additional information and digital services through their mobile devices.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to improve transparency, enhance service delivery and make the billing system more consumer-friendly. Officials said reforms aimed at increasing efficiency and improving services in the power sector will continue.
