Gold Prices Jump Sharply In Pakistan As Global Market Rally Continues

Gold prices witnessed a significant increase in both local and international markets on Tuesday, resuming their upward trajectory after a brief pause and moving closer to record-high levels.

According to the latest rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold surged by Rs4,600 per tola in Pakistan’s bullion markets. The per-tola rate climbed from Rs471,762 on the previous trading day to Rs476,362, reflecting strong momentum in precious metals trading.

The increase was also evident across other gold categories. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold rose by Rs3,944 to reach Rs408,403, compared to Rs404,459 previously. Similarly, 10 grams of 22-karat gold gained Rs3,616, increasing from Rs370,767 to Rs374,383.

The latest surge comes after a short one-day pause in the market and highlights the continued strength of gold as investors seek safe-haven assets amid uncertainty in global financial markets.

Market analysts noted that domestic gold prices are influenced by a combination of international bullion rates, exchange rate movements and local demand. As global prices continue to strengthen, local markets have mirrored the upward trend, pushing gold closer to historic highs.

The rally was not limited to Pakistan. International gold prices also recorded a notable increase during trading, providing further support to local bullion rates.

In the global market, gold gained $46 per ounce, rising from $4,494 to $4,540 per ounce. Analysts attribute the increase to ongoing volatility in international commodity markets, geopolitical uncertainties and continued investor interest in precious metals as a hedge against economic risks.

The rise in international prices has played a key role in driving local market gains, as Pakistan’s bullion market traditionally follows global trends.

Silver prices also moved higher alongside gold. In the domestic market, the price of silver per tola increased by Rs94 to reach Rs8,153. Likewise, the rate for 10 grams of silver rose by Rs80, settling at Rs6,989.

International silver prices also recorded gains, climbing by $0.94 per ounce to reach $76.69.
