Daniyal Zafar’s Performance in Zanjeerain Criticised by Dr. Ejaz Waris After Latest Episode

Digital commentator Dr. Ejaz Waris has criticised Daniyal Zafar’s performance in the latest episode of Zanjeerain, arguing that the actor failed to convey the emotional urgency expected during one of the drama’s most pivotal moments.
The criticism centres on a scene in which Surbuland Khan, portrayed by Daniyal Zafar, learns that his fiancée, Bano, has gone missing. According to Dr. Ejaz, the character remained unusually composed, assuming Bano was somewhere within the haveli instead of displaying the panic and desperation that the situation appeared to demand.

While reviewing the episode, Dr. Ejaz said the portrayal felt inconsistent with Surbuland’s earlier behaviour. He pointed out that the character had previously shown intense concern when another person’s wife was trapped inside a water tank, yet reacted with comparatively little urgency when his own fiancée disappeared.
He also questioned Daniyal Zafar’s execution of the scene, saying the performance appeared too restrained and did not deliver the emotional impact viewers may have expected. However, Dr. Ejaz made it clear that his criticism was directed solely at the performance and not at Daniyal personally, describing the actor as a good person and stating that he had no personal issue with him.
Commenting on the public reaction, Dr. Ejaz claimed that many viewers had been expressing similar disappointment through memes and social media posts. He further suggested that much of the praise circulating online was being amplified by fan pages and promotional activity.
Dr. Ejaz also questioned the direction of the sequence, saying stronger guidance from the director could have resulted in a more convincing and emotionally engaging performance.
During the review, he addressed several fan theories surrounding the drama, dismissing speculation that Bano had survived and was secretly receiving treatment from an elderly woman. In his view, the storyline has already confirmed the character’s death.
He concluded by teasing another major twist in the drama, suggesting that another important character could soon meet a tragic fate.
