Dialogue between government and PTI hits deadlock over written demands
The ongoing dialogue between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) appears to have stalled as both sides struggle to make progress. The talks have reportedly reached an impasse due to PTI’s failure to submit a written charter of demands.
Sources indicate that the third phase of negotiations is now uncertain. National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has not called a session for the dialogue committees, further delaying the process. The lack of a formal written document from PTI has been a significant sticking point.

PTI leader Asad Qaiser argued that the party’s statements during previous meetings should be considered as their demands. He also stressed that for the dialogue to succeed, the government committee must engage key stakeholders and influential entities who can help move the process forward.
However, Senator Irfan Siddiqui expressed concerns that the dialogue could collapse entirely if PTI does not provide its demands in writing. He warned that without formal documentation, the negotiation process may lose credibility and purpose.
Insiders revealed that PTI plans to finalize its demands after consulting with its imprisoned founder, Imran Khan. Party leaders are expected to meet with Khan soon to discuss the way forward. Until then, the government-PTI dialogue remains in limbo, with no clear path to resolution in sight.
Political observers believe that the deadlock could have significant implications for Pakistan’s political stability, as both sides appear unwilling to compromise on key issues. For now, the future of the dialogue process hinges on PTI’s next move and whether they will submit a formal charter of demands to break the stalemate.
