Beijing Police to Train Islamabad Officers in AI and Modern Policing

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with a high-level delegation from the Beijing Police Department in Islamabad on Wednesday, where both sides agreed to expand cooperation in law enforcement and training. The delegation was led by Deputy Director General Gao Jianzan and included senior Chinese officials, such as Li Yuhang from China’s Ministry of Public Security.
During the meeting, it was decided that officers from the Islamabad Police will travel to Beijing to receive specialized training in modern policing techniques and artificial intelligence. The training is expected to help Islamabad Police adopt advanced systems and improve overall operational effectiveness. Minister Naqvi emphasized the importance of learning from the highly equipped Beijing Police, noting that such collaboration will significantly enhance the skills and professionalism of Pakistani law enforcement personnel.

The Chinese delegation also offered to support Islamabad Police in anti-riot training, while both sides stressed the need for timely information sharing to combat terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, and human smuggling. Naqvi expressed gratitude for China’s continued support and praised the growing cooperation between the two countries in the security sector.
The meeting was attended by several senior Pakistani officials, including Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the federal interior secretary, Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the Inspector General of Islamabad Police.
