SIFC Launches Green Tourism Initiative to Boost Pakistan’s Global Tourism Appeal
The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has unveiled its Green Tourism initiative, a comprehensive program designed to position Pakistan as a leading destination for global tourism. In collaboration with over 30 government organizations, the initiative aims to showcase Pakistan’s rich diversity of attractions, including religious sites, mountaineering destinations, and cultural heritage locations, to both domestic and international audiences.
Central to the Green Tourism initiative is the development of a digital platform that offers tourists streamlined access to booking services, certified guides, and accommodation options via mobile devices. This digital approach is intended to simplify travel planning and enhance visitor experiences across the country.

Additionally, the initiative is set to promote Pakistan through sports and events, with plans to attract international events to the country, thereby elevating Pakistan’s global profile in tourism and sports. The SIFC is also considering establishing a Human Resource Institute to support this growth, while fostering partnerships to strengthen the framework of the Green Tourism program.
The structured approach of the Green Tourism initiative highlights Pakistan’s unique appeal, with targeted promotions of religious pilgrimages, adventure tourism in the mountains, and exploration of historical heritage sites. SIFC’s facilitation, combined with supportive government policies, is expected to significantly expand Pakistan’s tourism sector, making it more accessible, sustainable, and globally competitive.
