Saba Qamar To Portray ‘Anmol Pinky’ In New Biographical TV Drama

Pakistani actress Saba Qamar is reportedly set to play the lead role of “Anmol Pinky” in an upcoming television biopic inspired by the life of Anmol alias Pinky, a woman whose arrest in Karachi recently became a major national talking point.

The project is currently under development, with journalist and television host Shahzaib Khanzada working on the script. Producers have yet to reveal a release date or further production details.

The drama will reportedly focus on the life and controversies surrounding Anmol, commonly known as Pinky, tracing the events that brought her into the national spotlight.

Anmol was arrested by Karachi Police on May 12 during an operation conducted in the Garden area. Following her arrest, law enforcement agencies disclosed information about what they allege was an extensive narcotics supply network operating across different cities.

According to South DIG Syed Asad Raza, investigators believe Anmol managed a group of riders who were allegedly involved in delivering cocaine to customers in various locations. Authorities claim she did not employ permanent workers and instead relied on a network of associates to run the operation.

Investigators further allege that Anmol left her home at a young age and moved from Karachi to Lahore with ambitions of pursuing a career in modelling and films before allegedly becoming involved in drug-related activities.

Officials also claim that during this period she established connections with several individuals, including a retired police officer, and accumulated properties and financial assets.

As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities have reportedly frozen several bank accounts and taken control of various properties linked to the case. Police say a total of 28 criminal cases were registered against her between 2018 and 2026 in Karachi and Lahore.

The investigation is being conducted with the involvement of multiple agencies, including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), and National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

The planned television drama is considered an unusual project for Pakistani television, as it is based on a recent and highly publicized criminal investigation. With Saba Qamar expected to headline the production, the biopic is already generating interest and is likely to attract significant attention once filming and promotional activities begin.
