Punjab Budget 2026-27 To Be Presented On June 12 After Federal Budget

The Punjab government has decided to present its budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 on June 12, according to official sources.

Sources said the Punjab Finance Department has forwarded a summary to the Chief Minister’s Office seeking approval for the presentation of the provincial budget. The budget is expected to outline the government’s spending priorities, development plans and revenue measures for the upcoming financial year.

The announcement comes as preparations for budget presentations gain momentum across the country. The federal government is scheduled to present the federal budget for 2026-27 on June 10, a date that was confirmed by officials on Tuesday.

Punjab’s budget will be unveiled two days after the federal budget, allowing provincial authorities to align key financial estimates and allocations with the federal government’s fiscal framework.

The provincial budget is expected to focus on development projects, public welfare initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, education, healthcare and agriculture-related programs. Final allocations are likely to be determined after reviewing federal transfers and revenue projections for the next fiscal year.

Like other provinces, Punjab relies heavily on its share from the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and federal tax revenues. As a result, provincial budget planning is closely linked to the federal government’s financial strategy and resource distribution plans.
