PTI rejects false reports of Dr Yasmin Rashid’s death

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has strongly denied reports circulating on social media claiming that senior party leader Dr Yasmin Rashid has passed away, confirming that she is alive and currently imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail.
The clarification came through a statement posted on X by PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram, who said Dr Yasmin Rashid remains in custody at Kot Lakhpat Jail following her conviction in cases linked to the May 9 incidents.

According to Sheikh Waqas Akram, Dr Yasmin Rashid continues to face what the party describes as unlawful imprisonment and severe punishment for standing by PTI founder Imran Khan.
He categorically rejected the reports of her death, calling them entirely false, baseless and without any factual foundation. He also appealed to PTI workers, supporters and the general public not to pay attention to or share unverified claims regarding Dr Yasmin Rashid.
The clarification follows widespread rumors on social media alleging that Dr Yasmin Rashid’s health had suddenly worsened inside Kot Lakhpat Jail and that she had died while undergoing treatment after being shifted to a hospital. PTI has dismissed those claims and reaffirmed that she is alive.
