Imran Khan News: KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi Calls August 5 Rally ‘Semi-Final’, Urges Public to Join Protest

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has called on the public, particularly the youth of the province, to participate in a major rally scheduled for August 5 at 6:00 PM at the Peshawar Toll Plaza, describing the event as a “semi-final” where important announcements will be made.
In his message, Afridi said the public must raise its voice against what he described as oppression, injustice, inflation, unemployment, and worsening law and order. He claimed that both former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are facing serious health concerns and alleged that the constitutional and legal demand for treatment under the supervision of their personal doctors has not been fulfilled.

Afridi further alleged that Imran Khan is being kept in illegal isolation and has been denied meetings with his family members, party leaders, personal doctors, and sons. He claimed that withholding information about Khan’s health and condition is unlawful and said he is being treated “like an abducted person.”
The chief minister also alleged that Imran Khan is not receiving justice, claiming that court proceedings and judicial orders are not being implemented. He said appeals had been made to the Speaker, the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice, and the Islamabad High Court, but meetings with the PTI founder had still not been allowed.
Afridi stated that he represents Imran Khan and that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa voted in the former prime minister’s name, making it the government’s responsibility to implement his vision. He said that after exhausting all constitutional and legal avenues, public protest had become the only remaining option, adding that despite avoiding protests for the past two years, restrictions on meetings have continued.
He also claimed that all attempts to pressure Imran Khan would fail, saying the former prime minister remains “free even in prison,” while those in power are “slaves despite being in government.” Afridi further alleged that the rulers are protecting the interests of those who brought them to power instead of serving the public and criticized them for remaining silent on the situations in Balochistan and Kashmir.
The KP chief minister said that violence is not the solution to any issue and stressed that all national problems should be resolved through the Constitution and the law. He claimed that Pakistan’s economy is heading toward decline, with inflation, unemployment, and insecurity increasing, while the government’s primary focus remains keeping Imran Khan under restrictions.
He further alleged that a handful of individuals are pushing Pakistan toward destruction because of personal ego, but said the country’s youth would not allow that to happen. According to Afridi, only Imran Khan has the ability to unite the nation and make Pakistan a strong country.
Referring to legal cases against himself, Afridi claimed that the May 9 cases against him have been reopened despite his acquittal. He said fresh investigations have begun and additional cases have been scheduled for July 28 and 29. He added that he would neither be intimidated nor pressured and would continue to stand by Imran Khan’s ideology.
