Islamabad Court Orders Ban on 27 YouTube Channels Over Anti-State Allegations

An Islamabad court has directed authorities to block 27 YouTube channels for allegedly spreading anti-state content. The decision was issued by Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah following a request from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The FIA had initiated an inquiry on June 2 against multiple YouTube channels suspected of promoting narratives considered harmful to the state. After reviewing the evidence, the court found the material presented by the FIA sufficient to justify legal action and restrictions.

Among the blocked channels are some prominent names, including the official YouTube channel of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), along with channels operated by journalists and commentators such as Matiullah Jan MJtv, Asad Toor Uncensored, Habib Akram, Orya Maqbool Jan, Moeed Pirzada, and several others.
In a two-page written order, the court instructed YouTube’s designated officer to enforce the ban by disabling access to the listed channels. The action is being taken as part of broader efforts to counter online content deemed to undermine national security or public order.
