Gold prices break records in local and international markets, up by Rs2,300 today

Gold prices continued their upward trajectory on Thursday, with significant increases in both local and international markets.

In Pakistan, the price of one tola of gold surged by Rs2,300, reaching Rs282,800. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs1,971, bringing it to Rs242,455.

On the international stage, gold prices rose by $23, pushing the per-ounce rate to $2,716. Earlier in the session, gold reached a peak of $2,725.79, the highest since November 6. Spot gold remained steady at $2,717.80 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures settled slightly lower at $2,750.70.

Other precious metals also experienced gains. Spot silver climbed by 0.8% to $32.15 per ounce, platinum rose by 0.7% to $946.05, and palladium increased by 0.8%, reaching $989.25.

Yesterday, gold prices in Pakistan recorded even sharper increases, with the price of 24-carat gold per tola rising by Rs3,100 to reach Rs280,500. The price of 10 grams of gold jumped by Rs2,658, reaching Rs240,484.

Silver also saw a rise in local markets, with the price of one tola increasing by Rs50 to Rs3,450, and 10 grams climbing by Rs42.86 to Rs2,957.81.
