Gold prices recorded a strong increase in Pakistan on Thursday, following gains in the international bullion market, while silver prices moved lower in domestic trading.

According to market data, the price of gold rose by Rs1,523 per tola, pushing the rate to Rs469,285 per tola across the country.

The price of 10 grams of gold also witnessed a notable increase of Rs1,305, reaching Rs402,335 after the latest adjustment.

The rise in local gold rates came in line with trends in the global bullion market, where gold prices gained $14.50 per ounce. Following the increase, the international gold rate settled at $4,468 per ounce.

Market analysts said domestic gold prices continue to be heavily influenced by fluctuations in international bullion markets, exchange rate movements and investor demand for safe-haven assets.

While gold moved higher, silver prices registered a decline. The price of silver fell by Rs97 per tola in the local market, bringing the new rate down to Rs7,797 per tola.
