FIA teams formed for crackdown on ‘Anti-State’ propaganda

Authorities have initiated a crackdown on individuals involved in anti-state propaganda and activities targeting state and security institutions. Joint teams, comprising members from security agencies and the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing, have been formed to lead this effort.
These teams, equipped with the authority to conduct arrests and investigations at both federal and provincial levels, will be supported by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and other relevant institutions. Cybersecurity experts have been engaged to bolster the teams’ capabilities, ensuring effective action against digital offenses.

Sources reveal that the teams will have the power to conduct raids and make arrests in any part of the country, focusing on individuals propagating false narratives and incitement through social media.
As part of the initial phase of this operation, FIRs were registered against seven suspects on Friday. The accused were allegedly involved in spreading extremism, incitement, and anti-state propaganda online.
