Mahenur Haider criticises content creators for using celebrities to gain online fame

Pakistani actress Mahenur Haider has spoken out against the growing trend of social media creators building their platforms by targeting celebrities, saying she is increasingly frustrated by the culture of online criticism.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the actress shared her views on the current digital landscape and questioned why individuals with no connection to the entertainment industry often gain popularity by commenting on the lives of actors and public figures.

Mahenur said she has grown exhausted with social media, noting that many creators achieve viral success by offering unsolicited opinions about celebrities.
“I’ve become really tired of social media. When you open these platforms, you see people making content about actors and famous personalities, sharing their opinions and going viral because of it,” she said.
The actress further criticised what she described as a double standard among some content creators, arguing that they frequently use celebrities’ photos and video clips to attract audiences while being unwilling to accept criticism directed at themselves.
“They use other people’s pictures and videos to gain attention, build an audience and create their own following. At the same time, they openly criticise those individuals. I find that difficult to understand,” she added.
Mahenur’s remarks have sparked discussion online about the increasing influence of social media commentary and the responsibilities of digital creators when discussing public figures.
