Bushra Ansari Raises Concerns Over Pakistan’s Rapid Population Growth
Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has voiced concern over Pakistan’s growing population, calling for greater awareness about family planning and responsible parenting to help secure a better future for coming generations.
Speaking during a recent television appearance, Bushra Ansari discussed a range of social issues and highlighted population growth as one of the challenges she believes requires serious attention. She said it is a topic she often speaks about and remains deeply concerned over.

The actress recalled that public awareness campaigns promoting family planning were once more visible across the country. According to her, messages encouraging responsible family planning and birth spacing used to be common, but such campaigns are no longer seen as frequently.
Bushra Ansari noted that while sustenance ultimately comes from Allah, people are also blessed with wisdom and the ability to make thoughtful decisions. She stressed the importance of considering available resources and the ability to provide proper care, education and opportunities before expanding a family.
She further remarked that many families are already facing financial and social pressures, making it difficult to meet the needs of all household members. Bringing children into circumstances where adequate support cannot be ensured, she said, can create challenges for both parents and children.
Pakistan remains one of the world’s most populous countries, with experts frequently linking rapid population growth to pressures on healthcare, education, housing, employment and public services. Policymakers and social development organizations have repeatedly emphasized the importance of awareness campaigns and access to family planning services as part of broader efforts to improve living standards.
